Scheduling an Appointment

To schedule an appointment, you can call me at 443-364-8010 or email challcounselor@gmail.com. My hours are flexible, so please indicate what day(s) and time(s) work best for you along with any questions you may have.  If you'd like to talk on the phone prior to scheduling a session to get a sense for who I am and whether you think we would be a good fit, I'm happy to do that as well.

Insurance

I accept Aetna, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna and United Healthcare and will see clients who wish to use an out of network (OON) provider. I will also see clients who do not wish to use insurance. I will provide, upon request, an invoice for you to send for reimbursement from out of network providers.

Copays/Deductibles

Copays vary depending upon the insurance plan. Please call your insurance company and ask what your copay is or if you have a deductible that needs to be met.

 

Good Faith Estimate

If you do not have insurance or choose to not use your insurance and you want to pay out-of-pocket, you will be provided with a Good Faith Estimate so you can get a general sense of what you can expect to pay for services. 

Unlike physical health appointments, I cannot provide you with the exact number of sessions that you will need because psychotherapy is based not only on diagnosis but also the individual's input into the process (i.e., their ability to fully share their thoughts and feelings in session, to practice the strategies discussed, and environmental factors that may inhibit the client's ability to achieve their goal.) The frequency of appointments is based on a client's symptoms and personal preference. Most clients, especially those experiencing symptoms that are at higher risk for self-harm or suicide, are seen weekly to start and will eventually move to less frequent session as their symptoms improve.  Most people are seen every other week.

Cancellation Policy

Appointments canceled within 48 hours will be subject to a $75 cancellation fee. All appointments canceled outside of 48 hours will not be responsible for the cancellation fee.
